Choosing the Correct Primary Diagnosis

Choosing the correct primary diagnosis optimizes care and when clinically appropriate it influences the CMS per diem rate. In Patient Pattern, you may select up to 10 ICD-10 coded diagnosis.

At the right, you can select your primary diagnosis by clicking the dot.  Your primary diagnosis will always be the diagnosis highlighted in blue and with a blue dot selected.

Diagnosis with positive returns will show benefits in green while negative returns will be shown in red.  If clinically appropriate, one should always try to select the best return. It will be reflected in the financials tab to the right of diagnosis.
